As an English language specialist with more than 30 years of experience, Lily Fu has helped thousands of Malaysian students and adults raise their English language proficiency through her books, lectures and workshops. She has collaborated on 12 course books and workbooks in the series ‘Learning English’.
Besides teaching English for academic purposes, Lily also conducts courses and workshops in Speak Good English, English for Professional Purposes and English for Communication. Based on her vast experience and keen observation on how Malaysians learn English, Lily has developed a needs-focused, learner-centered approach to mastering the language for communicative purposes. Her interactive communicative skills programs are customized to suit the needs of the individual and the corporate client.
A strong advocate and practitioner of life-long learning and self-empowerment, Lily is passionate about helping others discover their potential. She incorporates goal-setting strategies and habitizing principles in her workshops to ensure participants achieve their language objectives. Her workshops are lively, with lots of opportunities for participants to practise and apply their newly-acquired language skills. Participants get immediate feedback to help them improve their written and spoken English.
Lily holds a Masters in TESL (Teaching of English as a Second Language) from Universiti Malaya, an associate diploma in TESOL (Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Trinity College, London and a certificate in TESOL from Sheffield Hallam University, UK. She is an award-winning member of a Toastmasters club, and a graduate of Anthony Robbins and Napoleon Hill’s motivational programs, as well as Harv Eker's 'Train the Trainer' program.
Lily is also a professional trainer with certification from IPMA, UK. As a Tourism English trainer certified by the Ministry of Tourism, Lily has helped to train front-liners in the travel and hospitality industries in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2007-8. Lily is currently tutoring adult students on Learning Skills at Wawasan Open University in Kuala Lumpur.
